Whew! What a Day!

Today in the Elementary Library, a record was set for circulation. Total checkouts for today was 533. Never before had it reached 500 on a daily checkout. Students were busy checking out books for last minute research and for AR testing. They are well aware that tomorrow is the last day for Accelerated Reader testing for the year so it was a busy place. With this many checkouts, it can only mean one thing. I have this many books to put back on shelves. The library is a mess but at least the students are reading. It was also busy at the seconday library. The students are working on research projects. With the library being closed most of the year, research that is mainly done in March is just getting under way. Students will have to cram to be able to get all work finished before the grades close for the year.

WOW!!! I am a graduate of Benavides High School and was looking through the website. It's great and very informative. I love the way the teachers have adopted technology to demonstrate classroom/outdoor activities. I am SO happy to hear that the school is doing so well, and that our students are taking advantage of their resources.

Congratulations,
Graduate - Class of '99
